For a major pharmaceutical company, we designed a web-enabled clinical trial management system to improve the operational and strategic capabilities to manage the finances surrounding the execution of a clinical trial. Specifically, the product was to enhance the ability to define and manage events that occur during the trial as well as administer and pay the trial participants. The system integrates the recording of events with financial information established by the clinical trial sponsor. The integrated solution ensures that fiscal management of a clinical trial is a natural outcome of protocol monitoring. The system was designed as a web-based database application developed under the latest Microsoft product suite such as .NET, C#, Stored Procedures and SQL Server. This product is now offered as CT Manager.
We were contracted by the US Air Force to enhance and port an existing Priority Scheduling Tool (PST) application to the web. The resulting PST application duplicated the functionality of the existing PST. The application is web-based and accessible via Internet Explorer version 4.0 or higher from within the Air Force Base intranet. Data is accessed from the existing RDB database. The main technologies implemented are Windows 2000, IIS 5.0, .NET Common Language and Crystal Enterprise for report management.
